Happy Kids Daycare

Bangladesh is among the few countries in South Asia that has increased female employment in the last decade, while also cutting the wage gap between men and women significantly. Though the number of employed woman rose, the issue of ensuring care for babies and young children remained neglected in both public and private sectors.

To support its employees and their families, Dutch-Bangla Pack Ltd. (DBPL) – LC Packaging’s SA 8000 certified production facility in Bangladesh – , partnered with  Sporsho Daycare and has set up ‘Happy Kids’. This day-care centre is located on the DBPL premises and offers a safe, playful and educational environment for children from the age of 6 months until 4 years. Two employees, a supervisor and a nanny are hired to run the centre. Sporsho Day-care ensures that the employees responsible for running the facility are well qualified and experienced in all aspects of childcare to deliver a safe and happy stay for the children. They are also trained to provide first-aid.

The day-care service is free of charge for the DBPL employees who bring their children to Happy Kids.

Since 2019, the LC Supports Foundation donated €10,000 euros as a contribution towards financing the salaries of Happy Kids employees.
